Asian American Recovery Services offers youth prevention and treatment services to North San Mateo County residents from its site in Daly City. We collaborate with the school districts to provide prevention services to Daly City middle and high schools, offering curricula based in life skills and youth development models. Outpatient substance abuse counseling services are offered to youth referred through San Mateo County Office of Juvenile Probation. We are also involved in the training and implementation of Asset Development in the Daly City community.
Project OASIS provides intensive outpatient services for clients referred by the San Mateo County Juvenile Probation Department. Through the program, clients receive 3 hours of counseling services per week for an expected 8-12 months. The treatment model which endorses the philosophy of "reducing problems and increasing strengths by nurturing the mind, body and spirit," follows California Department of Alcohol and Youth Treatment Guidelines, providing low level intensive outpatient treatment (Association of Addiction Medicine Placement Level I). Outpatient services include comprehensive psycho-social, substance abuse assessment; individual, group and family counseling, psycho-educational groups, drug-free social and recreational activities, case management, and aftercare.
Project OASIS is funded by the San Mateo County Juvenile Probation Department through the California Crime Prevention Act 2000. Beginning in Calendar Year 2003, Project OASIS is expected to involve referrals from the San Mateo County Juvenile Drug Court, in collaboration with Alcohol and Drug Services / San Mateo County Human Services Agency.
