Jeffrey K. Mori
has been the agency’s Executive Director since 1998, and is a lifetime native of the City of San Francisco.

Mr. Mori has held executive positions in the City and County of San Francisco such as: Director of the Mayor’s Office of Children, Youth and their Families, as appointed by Mayor Willie Brown, Jr.; Commissioner of the California Coastal Commission as appointed by then Speaker of the House, Willie Brown, Jr.; Commissioner of Recreation and Parks as appointed by then Mayor Dianne Feinstein; member of the Citizens Committee on Community Development as appointed by then Mayor George Moscone.

For some 23-years from 1973-1996, Mr. Mori was Executive Director of the Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) of San Francisco, as well as a lecturer in the Dept. of Asian American Studies at California State University, San Francisco from 1989-1991.

Mr. Mori holds a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of San Francisco.

His current civic and community activities, as well as past commendations, are too numerous to list, but include: Chair, California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Program (ADP), Advice Seeking System; Co-Director, San Francisco Youth Fund; Board Chair, National Asian Pacific American Families Against Substance Abuse (NAPAFASA); Board Chair, Japantown Task Force, Inc.; as well as member of: Asian/Pacific Islander Constituent Committee (APICC); Peace Plaza Task Force Committee; and Board Member of CompassPoint Nonprofit Services.
